Teeth Whitening

Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine or smoking.

Whitening can get your smile looking its best. Non-professional procedures and clinically unproven teeth whitening tips can often lead to unsatisfactory results, you should look for a whitening procedure that is:

  • Fast and convenient
  • Long lasting
  • Low sensitivity
  • Proven to be safe and effective
  • Performed by a Dental Professional

Sterilisation

We believe that the sterilisation room of surgery should be open for all patients to check if they wish to do so. Our sterilisation room is located in between the surgeries and is readily accessible for the patients. All our instruments are first rinsed then put through an ultrasonic cycles, dried and sealed in special pouches. They are then autoclaved, and the records of all the sterilisation cycles are kept in a log book.

We are currently in the process of being accredited by the experts in the field of infection control on our sterilisation techniques and will soon be receiving a certificate of ACCREDITATION. Next time you are in practice, please feel free to walk into our sterilisation room and provide us with your feedback.

Pregnancy and Oral Health

When planning pregnancy get your full mouth checked up, to avoid any forthcoming dental pain, as you must be aware that a lot of dental treatment is not possible during pregnancy and you may have to bear the pain throughout your pregnancy due to unsuitable conditions of strong medications.

During pregnancy gums usually, bleed little more as compared to other times if you have plaque and tartar which is not a good sign and also causes bad breath and bad health for you and your child in the womb.

So get a full mouth treatment done for cavities and bleeding gums when planning pregnancy especially if you have wisdom tooth pain or any deep cavity pain. Get a root canal done or extraction of wisdom tooth before pregnancy in order to avoid pain and consumption of antibiotics during the nine months.

Age Above 35

After the age of 35, you’ve got to take more care of your gums. If your gums bleed while brushing or when you bite an apple, you can be sure you have a gum problem. Get your gum treatment done on time before it’s too late to make your gums tight and strong and to enable it to hold your teeth in its position to double the life of your teeth.

Children

If your child has Thumb sucking, Lip biting, night bottle feeding habits it could lead to complications in teeth development. Also if you are child has unusual dark spots on the teeth, please consider a professional consultation with our friendly doctor. After your child gets his/her milk teeth, it is encouraged to take him/her to a dentist once in 6 months for a dental check-up to have the teeth, gums, tongue, lips, cheeks, palate and the jaws checked up to prevent any forthcoming dental problems. When the first milk tooth falls out, the permanent teeth start erupting (between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 years of age).

Somnodent

Despite the fact that uncomplicated snoring affects more than 30% of the population, the medical fraternity has treated it with little seriousness. Even the potentially more serious disorder closely linked to snoring, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), has been of significant concern amongst the medical fraternity since the 1980s. On the basis of the gradual realisation of the long-term destructive effects of OSA and snoring on health, an entire industry has developed to the point where the treatment of these sleep disorders is now a multi-billion dollar business. Some industry members have grown from humble beginnings to large profitable global enterprises due to the demand of Constant Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices and associated accessories. However, not all OSA patients benefit from CPAP therapy. Some estimates put overall long-term compliance rates as low as 30%. The reasons for non-compliance are many and varied. This subsequently opens a market for an innovative manufacturer who can devise a solution to address these treatment objections. We believe that the SomnoDent™ MAS occupies this important place in the market of OSA treatments.

The SomnoDent™ MAS is an oral device, which fits over the upper and lower teeth, much like a sports mouthguard. However, unlike a sports mouthguard it is a discreet, precision-made and clinically-tested medical device that is recognised for its clinical validity by FDA,TGA, ISO 13485 and Swiss medic standards. Backed by over 7 Years of clinical research, it is no wonder that the SomnDent™ MAS is known as the MAS GOLD STANDARD among Dental Sleep Professionals across the world.

In the vast majority of cases, the SomnoDent™ MAS is a highly effective treatment method for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea and snoring, with patients often having better treatment uptake to that of CPAP and surgery.

Periodontal Surgery

In some of the advanced cases of periodontal disease, there is a need for surgery. In such cases, the patient’s gingival tissues (gums) are retracted away from the teeth and the socket area is thoroughly cleaned using hand instruments and ultrasonic scalers. The gingivae is then sutured back in place and special oral hygiene instructions are provided for the patient. As in non-surgical periodontal treatment regimes, the success of the treatment is strongly dependant on the patient’s oral hygiene.

Cosmetic Dentsitry

Cosmetic dentistry has become a very broad and highly specialized field. From provision of porcelain veneers to reconstruction of occlusion (bite) and from extensive crown and bridge work to zoom teeth whitening, the art of cosmetic dentistry has evolved through the years.

One of the most popular facets of cosmetic dentistry is provision of veneers. Veneers are highly popular due to their great effect on aesthetics of a smile and their little or at times no need for toot reduction. They can be performed by different types of materials but usually composite resin or porcelain veneers are the most preferred options.

Reconstructive Dentistry

In cases where teeth have been worn down by severe attrition, rebuilding of the teeth and the occlusion (bite)is termed reconstructive dentistry. Reconstructed bites need to be supported by strong materials such as porcelain or gold. Although initially the build up could be done using composite resin material, eventually some of the load bearing teeth must be covered in a stronger material such as gold or porcelain.
